One of the day to day issues a Leader faces is how to manage conflict. There is really not a single Good way of Style that can be used in every situation to mange conflicts.

Different Styles of managing Conflict
- Competitive - Comes from Power/Position/Designation, Expertise , Persuasive ability
- Collaborative - Try to meet needs of everyone involved
- Compromising - Try to solve problem in a way that partially satisfy all
- Accommodating - Meeting others need at expense of own will
- Avoiding - Try to put off situation
When to use What?
- Emergency, Fast Decision needed , Quick Turnaround, Difference of Opinion - Competitive
- When Peace is Top priority - Accommodating
- Need of Best solution with different views or Previous conflicts - Collaborative
- Meeting Deadline , Equal strength opponents - Compromising
What are Don'ts?
- Competitive Style should not be overused , else it may leave people dissatisfied.
- Don't use Collaborative style when quick turnaround is needed
- Compromising Style should not be overused , else it may lead to "No Win" culture
- Accommodating Style is not very useful in most of situations except when Peace is more important
- Avoiding should be Avoided :) as much as possible
